TURKISH CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT

Investment is the most preferred and demanding way for the acquisition of Turkish Citizenship. Foreigners who purchase an immovable property worth at least 400.000 US Dollars or equivalent foreign currency or equivalent amount of Turkish Lira and attached annotation at land registration not to sell this property for three years are granted Turkish Citizenship.

Foreign nationals may purchase real estate such as offices, houses and lands, provided that they comply with the restrictions set out in the Turkish legislation. In this context, a valuation report is required to determine the amount of $ 400,000 immovable property.

In the official deed to be given, it should be noted that "The foreign real person undertakes to purchase the real estate in order to gain Turkish citizenship and not to sell the real estate for 3 years under the secondary regulation.”

Finally, with the latest amendment to the legislation those who purchase the immovable property will be able to acquire Turkish Citizenship through a real estate investment in Turkey if they meet the following requirements: The immovable property whose condominium or floor easement is established should be worth at least $ 400.000 or equivalent foreign currency or equivalent amount of Turkish Lira, the amount should be paid in advance and in cash and the contract should be held by the notary public and there must be an attached annotation at land registration not to sell or transfer this property for three years.
